Lady shares how cheating wife won family house after divorce due to court marriage

A Nigerian lady has shared a story about a woman who cheated on her husband but still ended up with the family house after their divorce, all because they had a court marriage.

The woman recounted the incident in a lengthy post on the popular social media platform, X (formerly Twitter).

In her post, she described attending a wedding where her mother made a revealing comment about the bride’s family.

Her mother, reflecting on the groom’s choice, said that if he were her son, she would never allow him to marry that woman.

Curious, the lady asked her mother why she felt that way. Her mother then revealed the shocking backstory: the bride’s mother had cheated on her husband, yet managed to claim the house during their divorce because they had a court marriage.

She wrote: “My mum went for a wedding yesterday , a family friend’s daughter was getting married.”

“She said if it was her son , she wouldn’t allow him get married to that woman.”

“I asked why she said ‘The mother of that girl cheated on her husband and collected the man’s house , cause they did court marriage and brought in another man into the house her ex husband built . She further said the girl grew up with her mother and so therefore she would never allow her son get married to that kind of woman.”

The woman further explained that the bride grew up with her mother and, due to the circumstances, she would never allow her son to marry someone from such a family.

The post quickly gained traction, with many people flocking to the comment section to voice their opinions on the matter.
