LASUTH celebrates first baby of 2025 after parents’ 11-year wait
The Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) marked the beginning of 2025 with a heartwarming celebration as it welcomed its first baby of the year.
Baby Olafa, a healthy girl weighing 2.25kg, was born at 2:12 PM to the family of Olanrewaju and Oluwatoyin Olafa, who had waited 11 years for this joyful moment.
The birth of Baby Olafa was a cause for celebration not only for her parents but also for the medical team at LASUTH.
Representing the hospital’s Chief Medical Director, Professor Adetokunbo O. Fabamwo, the Deputy Chairman Medical Advisory Committee for Clinical Services, Dr. Olayinka Olawoye, congratulated the parents and prayed for the baby’s life to be filled with blessings and joy.
“This is a significant moment for the family and for LASUTH. We are committed to ensuring safe deliveries and excellent healthcare for mothers and newborns,†Dr. Olawoye said.
To commemorate the occasion, LASUTH presented the family with gifts, including essential baby items such as diapers and a baby bath set.
Dr. Olawoye also commended the hospital’s medical team for their unwavering commitment to providing top-notch care, particularly in maternal and child health services.
Overwhelmed with joy, the new parents, Mr. and Mrs. Olafa, expressed deep gratitude to LASUTH for their care, support, and thoughtful gifts.
