Iyabo Ojo fires back at Naira Marley over leaked chats confirming their relationship

Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has responded strongly to Naira Marley after the singer attempted to discredit her with leaked screenshots of their past conversations.
Earlier today, social media was abuzz with images of Iyabo Ojoâs chats with Naira Marley, sparking discussions about their relationship. The screenshots appeared to contradict her previous stance that she had no close ties with the singer.
In reaction to the controversy, Iyabo Ojo released additional screenshots of their exchanges, clarifying that their interactions were strictly professional.
She stated that her conversations with Naira Marley were centred around promoting music artists, including rising talents.
According to her, she first contacted Naira Marley after he reached out through her son, Festus Ojo. She also revealed that she had previously promoted his songs and invited him to events such as her movie premiere and her motherâs burial.
However, Iyabo Ojo insisted that her recent criticism of Naira Marley had nothing to do with their past interactions but was instead a response to his inaction amid allegations that his associate, Sam Larry, bullied late singer Mohbad.
The actress further alleged that she had been made aware of other disturbing claims against Naira Marley, which she vowed to address in court if necessary.
Iyabo Ojo on her professional relationship with Naira Marley
âNaira Marley recently shared our old chats, and Iâd like to address some points.
As a TikTok sensation, Iâve promoted various artistsâ songs, including Naira Marley. In 2020, I promoted his song after his team contacted me through my son Festus.
Naira Marley thanked me via DM, and I also invited him to my movie premiere and my motherâs burial party.
As someone who supports emerging artists, Iâve helped many young musicians promote their work. Iâve allowed them to use my lounge for shows, promoted their songs on TikTok, or introduced them to music producers like Naira Marley. For example, Fabian was signed by Naira Marley but left due to personal issues, and my nephewâs music style didnât align with Naira Marleyâs label.
However, when disturbing videos and petitions alleged that Sam Larry, Naira Marleyâs friend, bullied Mohbad, a young artist who tragically lost his life, I questioned Naira Marleyâs inaction. I never accused him of killing Mohbad, but the evidence suggests Mohbadâs life was threatened.
My issue with Naira Marley stems from his failure to intervene in Mohbadâs bullying. Furthermore, Iâve been made aware of allegations regarding Naira Marleyâs involvement in other disturbing incidents, which will be addressed in court if necessary.
I wonât turn a blind eye to injustice, even if it involves someone Iâm close to. I interact with many celebrities via DM, including Vice Versa, and I wonât hesitate to speak out against injustice, regardless of our past interactions. Naira Marley, you were mistaken if you thought Iâd stay silent.â
