Man recounts how wife he financed through university, got a car for, dumps him at UK airport
A Nigerian man has shared a heartbreaking story of how his wife, whom he sponsored through university and bought a car for, ended their marriage at a UK airport just hours after he arrived with their children.
The story, which surfaced in a viral video on X (formerly Twitter), details how the man supported his wife̢۪s education at the University of Lagos (UNILAG) and helped facilitate their relocation abroad.
According to him, after completing her education, his wife suggested they move to Canada, but when that plan failed, she proposed relocating to the UK. She traveled first, and he later joined her with their children.
Upon arriving in the UK on October 7, he informed his wife of their arrival. She showed up at the airport with six friends, some of whom she sent to take the children for a meal at a nearby shopping complex.
In a shocking turn of events, she asked to check their passports, removed the children̢۪s passports without his knowledge, handed his back to him, and immediately declared their marriage over.
His words:
“When we got married, she was in her first year at UNILAG. I sponsored her education, bought her a car, and did everything a man could do for his wife.â€
“She suggested we move to Canada, but that didn’t work out, so she proposed the UK. Instead of traveling together, she went first.â€
“I arrived in the UK with our children on October 7 and called her at the airport. She showed up with six friends, using crutches with a cast on her right leg. When I asked what happened, she said she had a domestic fall.â€
“She sent four of her friends to take the children to a shopping complex and then asked to check our passports to see if they were properly stamped. I handed them to her without suspecting anything. Before I knew it, she had taken the children’s passports, returned mine, and told me it was over between us.â€
“I was speechless. I asked what the issue was, and she simply said, ‘I’m done with you.’â€
