Man flees home after herdsmen kidnap his brothers in Delta

A Nigerian man has abandoned his house in Agbor, Delta State, after herdsmen kidnapped his two brothers. He claims the police instructed him to pay a ransom for their release.
The man shared his story in a post that has gone viral on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter). In the video, he is seen lamenting while showing the house he left behind.

He explains that he was forced to abandon the property after herdsmen abducted his brothers, and the kidnappers continue to operate in the region.
He further revealed that the incident was reported to the police, but they allegedly told him to pay the ransom for his brothersâ freedom.
His statement: âSee my house, I abandoned it because of the kidnapping in my area. Theyâve kidnapped my two brothers. The first time they came, they took both of them, and now theyâve come again. Thank God the area is developing, and the bush is being cleared.â
âWe went to the police, and they told us to pay the ransom while they investigate.â
âThere are houses in the area, but from around 6 p.m., youâre not safe. They know every road in Agbor, even the places I donât know.â
âThey took my brothers and made them trek through the bush.â
