The mother of former Nigerian national and West African light-heavyweight boxing champion, Olanrewaju Success, has broken silence on his tragic passing.

Earlier, Gistreel reported that Olanrewaju Success passed away on March 30, 2025, during a boxing match in Ghana, sparking condolences from fans and close associates.

In a recent development, Olanrewaju Success̢۪ mother has broken silence, revealing that she has been a widow since June 12, 1993.

According to her, the tragic passing of her husband occurred when her late son was five years old, and single-handedly raised him.

She revealed that, prior to her son̢۪s passing, he received a threatening message demanding he step down for his opponent, but he refused.

According to her, the late boxer left behind a wife and two children, and is seeking justice for his tragic death.

“He was only 5 years old when his father died in 1993.Since then, I’ve been raising him all myself. Few hours to his demise, he sent me a message that he was being threatened to step down for the opponent he had boxing match with which he refused “,She stated.
