Boy accidentally shoots sister while playing with fatherâs hunting gun

A tragic incident involving a boy who accidentally shot his sister while playing with their fatherâs hunting gun has surfaced online, sparking outrage and concern.
The heartbreaking story was shared by a police officer identified as @Brightgoldenboy on X (formerly Twitter).
In his post, he clarified that the content wasnât meant to target any religion, ethnic group, or gender, but to serve as a warning to the public.
According to the officer, a hunter carelessly left his long-range single-barrel gun within reach of his children.
His son, who had reportedly played with the gun on several occasions, accidentally triggered it while handling it again â" fatally shooting his sister.
In the video, the officer stated: âThis long-range single-barrel gun belongs to the father of one of the suspects. The father is the suspect because his carelessness is the reason weâre here today.â
He added that the boy admitted he had been playing with the gun for some time. âOne fateful day, he was playing with the gun, it went off, and killed his own sister â" the daughter of the gunâs owner.â
The father, when questioned, explained that he inherited the gun from his own father and used it for hunting, but was unaware his son had access to it.
He said, âThe gun na my father gun, na hunt I dey use am dey do.â
The boy, in the video, also revealed his age and spoke briefly about the incident.
As the video circulated on social media, many users flooded the comment section to express shock and call for more responsible gun handling.
