Man protests VeryDarkMan̢۪s arrest by burning GTBank ATM card

A Nigerian man has set his GTBank ATM card on fire in protest against the arrest of online personality VeryDarkMan, amid allegations that the bank played a role in his detention.

The incident was shared via a post on the man̢۪s page on X (formerly Twitter), where he expressed his outrage and encouraged others to boycott the bank.

VeryDarkMan was previously reported to have been arrested shortly after leaving a GTBank branch, where he had gone with his mother to complain about unsolicited deductions from his account.

His legal representative, Deji Adeyanju, stated in an official release that he was delayed for about five minutes at the bank entrance before being arrested.

As speculation grows that GTBank may have been complicit in the arrest, many of VeryDarkMan̢۪s supporters have voiced their displeasure online.

One particularly outraged fan went as far as burning his GTBank ATM card, vowing never to engage in business with the bank again.

Sharing a video of himself carrying out the act, he captioned the post: “Stop banking with @gtbank and refrain from sending money to GTBank users. They are enemies of this country. @officialefcc and VDM must not be affected by you guys. We dey observe. Observations!”

The video has since gone viral, sparking reactions from social media users who flooded the comment section to share their thoughts.
