NFL Player Calvin Anderson and Wife Sheree Lanihun Anderson Chose Charity Over a Big Wedding

While celebrity weddings dominate headlines and Instagram feeds, Calvin and Sheree Lanihun-Anderson decided to write a different story.

“We skipped the big wedding and built a charity,” says Sheree. “It was the best decision we ever made.”

Instead of throwing a multi-million-naira celebration, the couple launched the Lanihun-Anderson Foundation, focused on empowerment, poverty alleviation, and financial literacy to ensure a brighter and more prosperous future for all.

“We prayed about it, and God made it clear,” says Calvin. “Our love was meant to bless others.”

In a country where over 70% of the population lives below the poverty line, their decision is not just admirable, it’s essential.

“Giving in Nigeria is not just charity, it’s survival support,” says Sheree. “We knew we had to be part of the solution.”

The foundation works in tandem with their investment company, JB5 Investments, led in Nigeria by Sheree’s father, Tunji Lanihun, to ensure the family’s efforts are coordinated and impactful.

“We believe in generational giving,” says Tunji. “We give because we’ve been blessed.”
