â Yoruba film star, Babaâ¯Ijesha regains freedom after spending over three years behind bars.
âHis release was confirmed by Yomiâ¯Fabiyi in an Instagram post on Novemberâ¯14,â¯2025.
âIt would be recalled that Babaâ¯Ijesha was sentenced to 16â¯years in prison in 2022.
âIn his Instagram post, Yomiâ¯Fabiyi disclosed that the Appeal Court cleared Babaâ¯Ijesha of the charge of defiling a minor.
Notably, during Babaâ¯Ijeshaâs trial, Yomiâ¯Fabiyi played a significant role and shared updates about the proceedings on Instagram.
In a lengthy Instagram post, Yomiâ¯Fabiyi described the case a âcharadeâ and claimed that there was no evidence the girl was 14 at the time of the incident.
Furthermore, he accused Princess of grooming the minor and installing surveillance cameras, which he described as child pornography.
Additionally, he claims another associate, Damolaâ¯Adekola, was arrested but released despite allegedly having a sexual relationship with the girl.
The accusation of rape against Babaâ¯Ijesha stemmed from a 14â'yearâ'old girl who was in his care.
The teenagerâs foster mother, comedienne known as Princess went public with the allegations and released evidence, the case proceeded to trial.
Notably, in 2022, Babaâ¯Ijesha was sentenced to 16â¯years in prison for indecent treatment and sexual assault.
However, the appeal later upheld those convictions, while dismissing the defilement charge.
